The three finalists for the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs have been announced. From a pool of approximately 36 candidates, Dr. Robert L. Hampton, a Princeton grad who is a professor of Sociology at Tennessee State University, Dr. Carol Ann Blackshire-Belay, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dr. Joyce Blackwell, vice president of academic Affairs, St Augustine College Raleigh, NC were selected as the potential leaders of the academy.
The finalists will be on campus this week from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24. According to committee chair, Mr. John Smalls, the finalists are strong candidates who can serve the University well and persons who can take the academics at SC State to the next level. "They all come with strong academic credentials, experience in leadership roles and a vision for advancing the SC State University," said Smalls.
